CANNES.

Did not see any movie stars as it was coming to the end of the festival but the weather was sheer sunshine and hot. Went round the bric a brac stall (proberly the wrong word for this) but bought some nice things for the house, (although partner not pleased.) Kids had their pictures taken by the press, so watch this space!!! Saw Bill Gates yacht and also the King of Saudies (The Lady Moray) All in all Cannes was nice although I guess if it had not been for the Cannes festival it is properly a very quiet place.(Thanks To Tracey Britton)

VILLEFRANCE.

Having arrived at the pleasant port of Villefrance, we decided to make our own arrangements for visiting the coast. We made our way off the ship and at the dock-side, (at the tourist/visitor centre) we picked up a guide to the area.We also noticed other passengers disembarking with golf clubs, so obviously this would be another option for this port of call. The train station is a short stroll away with trains frequent in both directions - to Nice, or Monaco/monte carlo. Tickets are very reasonable, and the trains extremely modern and comfortable. The journey time to Monaco was approx 30 mins. We had a most enjoyable day, taking the small tourist train to view the area, allowing us to get off wherever. Other passengers chose to travel in the opposite direction and also found this very easy. ( Thanks to Mrs C.Smith)
